We believe in providing quality care and services to your child and family. Licensed Applied Behavior Analysis of New York was founded in 2015. Our team of board certified and state licensed behavior analysts are respected professionals and leaders in the field that have many years of experience working with children. Many of our BCBA supervisors and consultants have presented research at conferences throughout the years, teach graduate level courses in behavior analysis and special education and consult with school districts throughout Long Island. In addition, our BCBAs are NYS certified special education teachers with many years of experience working in early intervention, CPSE and CSE.
Mariann Lai, M.S.Ed, S.A.S., BCBA, NYS LBA
Owner and Director
Mariann began working with children with developmental disabilities as a young teenager, volunteering at an afterschool program at a local children's hospital. In 1994, she started working with children and adults diagnosed with ASD in a setting that used applied behavior analysis and has stayed in the field ever since. Her passion for ABA and helping individuals diagnosed with Autism and their families, led her to obtain a dual Masters degree in General and Special Education K-21, NYS certification in special education, NYS certification in School Administration and Supervision, national board certification and NYS licensure as a behavior analyst. Mariann has worked as a special education teacher, school administrator in both CPSE and CSE, as an executive director of an early intervention program and consultant for various agencies throughout NYC providing ABA services. She currently adjuncts for several graduate programs in Applied Behavior Analysis and Special Education. Mariann also co-owns Momentum Interventions, a NYS funded early intervention agency providing early intervention services to children from B-3.
Mariann started LABA of NY when families began reaching out to her for services once NYS passed regulation for Autism specific services through insurance. Many of the practitioners that work at LABA have worked with Mariann in various settings throughout her career and share the same core principles and passion for what we do.
